The new carbon-fibre sandal symbolizes an unequalled combination of technology and luxury,
in an accessory that has always been hallmarked by the use of ultramodern materials and quality
leather.
Lightness is the concept that underpins this project. Lightness in terms of both materials and appearance.
Carbon fibre, created for aerospace technology and adopted for use in the sports sector – for example,
in Formula 1 racing cars – is a high-tech, ultra-strong material, a network of fibres immersed
in a resin which then solidifies to create a composite substance of insuperable qualities.
The carbon fibre used for the creation of this unique, exclusive sandal is worked by means of a
hand-crafting process: the assembly of the sole is entirely performed by hand, by the same craftsmen
who create the most sophisticated components of top Italian cars and motorbikes.
The construction, volumes and colours of the carbon-fibre sandal all help express the concept of
pure design and a method of production that enhances practicality, comfort and style.
Stable and light, the carbon-fibre sandal weighs just 100 grams (little over 3 oz.), it is protected by an internationalpatent, and it will be included in every Gianvito Rossi collection as an ever-present model,
made in a number of versions for wear during the day and for the evening, hallmarked by an artful
combination of narrow straps and the essential stiletto heels.
