Curated by Nick Knight with Carrie Scott at the SHOWstudio, the exhibition that I am blogging about today is called ‘Selling Sex’.

It is an exciting mix of fine artists, photographers, filmmakers, and fashion designers. Aoi Kotsuhiroi’s ‘WET SILENCE’ Kinbaku feet objects and ‘RELIQUARY #1’ are currently featured in this latest show.

Each object in this presentation is unique. The artist uses materials such as silk thread, human hair, horse hair, Urushi lacquer, lacquered horns, antique Buddhist carnelian prayer beads, antique roman 24k gold beads and glass beads from circa 100-400 AD, antique elephant leather, buffalo leather, crocodile leather, cherry tree wood, antique indigo fabric, phantom crystals, ‘pit-fired’ porcelain, etc. to create these incredible art pieces.

Both are music divas, both are known for their specific style choices, and both are famous for their fierce heels. Yes, I am talking about Alicia Keys and Rihanna.

When both of these divas choose to wear the same style of the same designer’s shoes to the same event, we can definitely talk about shoe wars.

At the 2012 Grammy Awards, both ladies chose the same shoe: Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps with PVC trims and 5 inch stiletto heels.

Alicia Keys opted for a classic below-the-knee Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2012 Couture fitted LBD with padded shoulders teamed with a choker, while Rihanna wore a black silk cady custom Giorgio Armani gown featuring a plunging neckline complimented by a high slit, a dramatically open back and an elegant leg cleavage.

I must admit that Rihanna pulled it off better with her longer and leaner legs and delicate ankles. She also scored additional style points for her complimenting black toenail polish while Alicia went for cherry red.

Gwyneth Paltrow – Unmistakeably Stylish

Harper’s Bazaar’s March issue features Gwyneth Paltrow shot by Terry Richardson.

At 39, she looks stronger than she did in her 20s, lean and toned.

While at first, you get stunned by her fit physique, you’ll immediately notice the Anthony Vaccarello spring 2012 dress showing plenty of leg in combination with fierce stiletto sandals.

She is also rocking an amazing see-through gown and fierce Alexander McQueen shoes in other pictures.

She has incredible posture and amazing high arches.

Sophie Monk in Crotch High Stella McCartney Perforrated Boots

Sophie Monk has put her old faithful Stella McCartney thigh high boots into service again.

Last time I have seen her in those gorgeous high heeled perforated boots was when she wore them to the launch of the Candy Ice New Collection by Lucy Kilislian benefiting Help for Orphans International at SHG’s MyStudio nightclub in Hollywood on August 13, 2010.

This time, she wore them on Friday the 30th, 2011 to the Rage Official Launch Party at Chinatown’s Historical Central Plaza on in Los Angeles.

She looked stunning in those black faux-leather thigh-high boots with 5-inch gunmetal-tone sculpted-metal stiletto heels.

She also had a thin metal bracelet on her right ankle over the boots, which was quite attraction-grabbing.

I always mention how much I love to see celebrities put their shoes and boots to use as many times as they can instead of wearing one pair once and throwing them away.

Controversial Naomi Campbell in Leather

Naomi Campbell covered Interview Magazine exactly one year ago. She look gorgeous and sophisticated on the cover. Inside, she admits to being difficult and to making, “many mistakes.”

She says, “…I’m controversial. It’s not that people don’t know who I am . . . If people want to work with me, then they want to work with me. If they don’t, they don’t. You also have to create your own things. I’ve had my own perfume now for how many years? I’m doing my twelfth perfume and I’m with Procter & Gamble. If something doesn’t come your way, then you find another way. I was brought up with a very broad mind… I am a woman of color and I will always be proud of that… I also know that I will always have to go that extra 10 miles. And that’s fine. I’m okay with that. I’m okay with doing the extra 10 miles . . . My whole career is a challenge. I’m a challenge…”

When things don’t go her way, she says, “…I don’t get depressed. When I feel an attack, I withdraw, I disappear, I replenish, and then I come back. I’m not going to wallow in self-pity and not live my life. There are always going to be some falls in life for everybody, no matter what career you have. You have to roll with the punches and keep going...”

She tell Interview; “Listen, I make many mistakes. Many mistakes…. I’m not a perfect human being. I have to learn from my mistakes. And a lot of the ones I’ve made have been public. So I always get nervous when people speak about something that sounds like a role model, because I don’t know if I’ve been a great role model myself. I don’t think I have in certain aspects of my life . . . But I’m trying to do better. I admit to my mistakes. I admit to the things that I’ve done wrong. I admit it. But I’m trying to do right by myself and my life now.”

During Quentin Tarantino’s roast at the Friar’s Club last year, actress Uma Thurman proposed a toast…from her suede high heels!

Uma Thurman and her “Kill Bill” and “Pulp Fiction” movies’ director, Quentin Tarantino, enjoyed champagne out of Uma’s Louboutin shoes.

It must have been a great moment for Tarantino, who has a well-known fetish for women’s feet.

Taking off her high heels and pouring champagne inside for her toast, Thurman joked that it was “in honor of . . . the great relationship and the many myths of Quentin and I.”

After pouring champagne into her shoes and serving it to Tarantino, Uma could not resist the attraction of drinking champagne from her own shoes for too long and kept Quentin company.

I have been carefully observing the high quality boots of this small manufacturer in Italy for quite some time.

Les Baisers Des Etoiles are leather boots that are entirely handcrafted in Italy.

They have exquisite French designs.

The dark green pair (by the way, I love the color) featured in this post is a pair of knee-high boots made of alligator embossed leather upper.

Renée Zellweger is one of my top favorite celebrities for her amazing ability to flirt with cameras and display the best posture no matter what the occasion is.

She always looks very elegant and graceful on the red carpet, on photo shoots, on candid pictures. She has a natural ability to find the right pose and posture within milliseconds and she is very relaxed when in front of the cameras.

Even during the same events, while most other actresses look very awkward and stressful in front of the photographers and display artificial smiles and poses, Renée is always comfortable and playful like a true diva.

I’m also a big fan of her outfits and I love her taste in shoes as well.

Lucy Liu in Jimmy Choo Nude Patent Leather Peeptoes

I love Lucy Liu and she is one of my favorite girls in the movies. She always looks very beautiful, elegant and sexy at the same time.

These pictures are from the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2 and she looks amazing again.

I love her white dress and Jimmy Choo patent leather nude peep-toe shoes. They are classic patent leather pumps rendered in a curvaceous modern shape with a peep-toe.

Made in Italy and priced at $750, these peep-toe pumps feature a self-covered 5¾-inch stiletto high heel (145mm) and a 1½-inch tall platform (40mm).

Although the platform makes the heel height comparable to a 4¼-inch high heel (115mm), it is still amazing how graceful Lucy walks and poses in them considering her little feet are only size 5.5 (35.5).

Kristen Bell in Leather OTK Boots

31-years-old actress Kristen Bell is a gorgeous and quirky girl. She always has a lot of energy and it’s great fun to watch her.

I wanted to share her pictures in her black leather high heeled OTK boots with you.

She was wearing these particular pair of over-the-knee boots quite a lot in 2010 and she was really getting her money’s worth out of them.

She wore them to two ‘Burlesque’ movie premieres in Paris and Berlin, and she also attended two late night shows (George Lopez and Craig Ferguson) wearing the very same boots.

When she visited Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Craig couldn’t help but mention her wearing those boots and called her a “bad bitch“! And she sure showed them off to the audience.

And at Lopez Tonight, George Lopez couldn’t stop touching her booted legs during the interview.

At 5 ft 1 in (155 cm), Kristen is a tiny young lady with tiny size 6 feet, but she sure fills the screen with her energy and her looks. She kind of reminds me of Kelly Ripa – although Kelly Ripa is much taller than Kristin! [Hey, Kelly is allegedly 5 ft 3 in, that is 2 whole inches taller than Kristin! But honestly, I don't think that they are any taller than each other!]

Renee Zellweger attended the Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 Fashion Show as she does every year.

It took place during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City at The Theater at Lincoln Center on September 12, 2011 and many celebs attended the event.

As you can see from the pictures, Renee was looking fabulous as always.

Her choice of shoes were also excellent. A pair of mini platform, pointy-toe, nude color leather, stiletto heeled Louboutins complemented her dress and was a great match to her bag.

Her feet and legs looked awesome in the 5 inch heeled shoes and the cut of the shoes enabled her to show a nice shoe cleavage.

I love the quilted leather panel along the back of the shaft of these Burberry black stretch nappa leather thigh-high boots. It gives the boots a certain personality.

Although the stiletto heels look mean and measure 5 inches tall, the 1 inch high platform in the front makes you feel like you are walking on 4 inches high heels.

Other features are the seam details, the gunmetal half-zippers on the insides of the shafts, and the rugged rubber soles that tell you that these babies mean business.

Only High Heels Bulletin Board Is Up and Running!

I have been setting up my own high heels related bulletin board and forum in the last couple of weeks.

I have no intention to reinvent everything from scratch as there are very nice examples. There are several simple reasons behind creating this Only High Heels Forum.

The main idea behind this forum was to create a safe and friendly community to network with all like-minded fellow shoe enthusiasts and share our common passion online without physical boundaries. As you may or may not know, there are a plethora of websites and forums that “deal” with shoes and footwear, however, I have not found many that offer a clean and uncluttered basis for great communication and networking. Some are very limited in topics and have certain directions that do not necessarily include all enthusiasts, other are flooded with commercial pop-ups,
broken links, or unwanted and irrelevant content.

My goal is to keep this bulletin board as simple as possible in terms of communication and content and as multifaceted and comprehensive as possible to cover almost all interests. With the help of all of our members, we would like to create one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly networking forum about shoes, high heels, and fetish.

Yes, I’ve also included a fetish section as I believe that they are closely related to the main topic of the board and most of the members have light or strong fetishes that they’d like to share. In the bulletin board, as a user-driven concept, the members decide about the content. Thus enabling the forum to be an evolving, progressing, and ever-changing platform to share our interests and grow together.

This site is aimed to be a stage for consensual communication and networking in a friendly atmosphere. Guests and members of the Only High Heels Bulletin Board will be a part of a pleasant networking foundation for fellow shoe lovers and will have an excellent opportunity for sharing their ideas, information, thoughts, media, news, and much more.

Our main goal is to have a community that supports itself and to have a safe place for all of us to network, communicate, share and enjoy all these activities without any interference in terms of pesky ads, irritating pop-ups, annoying flash-based commercials, and links to nowhere.

I would like the Only High Heels Bulletin Board to grow together with all its members and provide them with the utmost online enjoyment and therefore kindly ask all of members to respect
other members and keep the forum clean and post accordingly.

In the beginning, there will be some quirks and twists as with any new attempt and technical issues may also arise. But I am very confident that the positive approach of all members will assist me to keep on solving all the issues and perfecting the experience together with all of you.

She visited Saks Fifth Ave in Beverly Hills, Calif., where she tried on some Louboutin heels and Chanel jewelry.

She came in wearing a pair of short jeans shorts displaying her slender legs and custom made custom made suede Giambattista Valli high heeled peeptoe boots that laced-up in the front.

The lovely Louboutin slip on sandals with golden heels that Ri tried on looked absolutely fabulous on her feet.

U.S. Goalie Hope Solo in High Heels

Especially since after the World Cup in Germany, everyone a little interested in sports knows Hope Solo, the gorgeous goalkeeper of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team that finished as runners up in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She is an exceptional player, strong athlete, and also a beautiful young lady.

We are used to see her in a soccer jersey and soccer cleats – soccer shoes with metal studs.

A couple of nights ago, she had a 10-minute appearance on the Lopez Tonight Show with George Lopez on TBS, and we have admired 5 ft 9 in Hope in her 5-inch high platform peep-toe stilettos.

She wore a pair of jeans – that were a little too low-cut for her physique and a grey jacket – that was a little small for her broad shoulders.

But her shoe selection was perfect. Her transformation from soccer shoes with spikes into spike heeled leather peep-toe pumps was hot.

Noritaka Tatehana is the brains behind the sky-high heelless shoes that Lady Gaga wears to run her daily errands!

He is a Japanese designer from Tokyo and the creator of those dangerously tall platforms with spikes and without heels.

When Lady Gaga found his designs and started wearing them on almost every possible occasion, Mr.Tatehana became famous worldwide.

The shoes in this post are from his 2011 collection-named Phantom.

They are now on exibit at the Trading Museum Comme des Garçons in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Victoria Spruce Spring/Summer 2012 Footwear Collection

Victoria Spruce is a footwear designer based in London.

Victoria has graduated in 2011 with an MA in Womenswear Footwear from Royal College of Art.

She has always been inspired by architecture, sculpture and structure, which is clearly visible in her footwear designs.

Emphasized by her use of hard materials combined with soft leathers, she gives a vivid contrast between the traditional and the new.

Also evident throughout her collections, is the belief that the upper and heel should be thought about as one, and not 2 separate pieces that are joined at the end.

This is emphasized further by the fluidity of line that Victoria uses consistently to create organic, flowing shapes that evolve around the foot.

Interesting approach, eye-cathing for sure but not very comfortable in my opinion.

Cameron Diaz Rocking Gold Metal Wedge Sandals from Lanvin Winter 2011 Collection

Cameron Diaz has great taste when it comes to shoes.

She was wearing a pair of glamorous wedge sandals from the Lanvin 2011 Winter Collection to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

Those beauties are not out for sale to the public yet, of course, but that would not stop Cameron to slip her size 9 feet into them.

I love the design element of the gold metal wedge frame heels that stretch all the way to the front of the shoe, which are hollow in the heel section.

They are almost 5 inches high (4.7 inches/120mm) and also create a mini platform at the front of the shoe.

These pumps are made of soft calfskin leather and feature a squared peeptoes and ankle straps.

These Lanvin Sandals will be on sale by the end of September 2011 as a part of the 2011 Lanvin Winter Collection Accessories and you can expect a price tag of around $1,700, similar to the Lanvin Calfskin Wedges in my post from June 21, 2011.

You can only pre-order them right now and pick them up in the beginning of October, unless you are a movie star like Cameron, and plan to wear them on a red carpet event!

Just like her character in ‘Horrible Bosses’, she made her Versace sandals work overtime.

Jen wore these hot lovelies to the David Letterman Show as well.

This time she paired them with a Balenciaga sequin tank dress and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Jen knows how to give a shoe workout. I love the fact the she wears the same sandals more than once. She seems to really enjoy wearing them.

Shoes glorious shoes!

It is summer and one of my favorite shows Burn Notice is back along with the baddest chick in Miami, Fiona, played by Gabrielle Anwar.

Who is Fiona? She is no sidekick, she is a bomb-making, gun-running, bat-toting, kick-ass enforcer with a heart of gold.

Let’s not forget her shoe game! Fiona starts off the season with style in Lanvin Platform Wedges. She runs, she jumps fences, puts the pedal to the metal, and she gives a shoe tease with her perfectly arched feet in her Lanvin Wedges.

The wedges are her signature shoes and I am disappointed if she doesn’t wear wedges in an episode.

I could talk all day about Burn Notice’s Warrior in Wedges but I prefer that you see it yourself.

I love to wear high heels and stilettos. That’s a fact.

Another fact is that the shoe designers started incorporating higher and spikier heels into their shoe designs in the last couple of years and as a result, we have started seeing a lot of ladies wearing spiky and stiletto heeled shoes, sandals, boots, etc. Especially celebrities are very often seen in a pair of 5-inch heel shoes no matter where they are, at a cocktail party, red carpet event or they’re just gorcery shopping. Which is definitely great for all of us shoe lovers, because we truly enjoy seeing a pair of stilettos on a pair of sexy feet no matter when or where. That’s a fact as well.

However, in my opinion, very few celebrities can really wear high heels or stilettos and pull it off. For instance, it is not easy to wear 5-inch or higher stiletto heeled sandals with only 2 thin straps holding them on your feet and look graceful and be comfortable. It’s hard to do justice to the stilettos and not look unsteady, clumsy, shaky and wobble with each step. It is very hard to make each step effortless and elegant. Only a modicum of female celebrities can make it look natural, as if they were born in pair of high heels.

One of them is Halle Berry. She has a great body and very shapely legs and one of the most beautiful pair of feet in the show business (and she knows it, too. Watch it here, here, and here).

I truly enjoy looking at her pics or watching her videos, where she is wearing a nice pair of stiletto sandals. She knows how to wallk in them how to stand in them, how to pose in them as if it’s the most natural thing for her.

This is the first part of a blog about Halle Berry and her high heeled footwear, where I’ll post many pictures of her in her sexy sandals, boots, and pumps.

Machete – Deadly Stilettos

When I watched Machete the other day, I was amazed how well Jessica Alba walked and moved in her 5-inch stilettos as the persistent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Sartana Rivera.

I especially liked the fight scene between Jessica Alba and an intruder, where she uses her 5-inch stiletto heeled red patent leather pumps (by the way, they were The Highest Heel brand) as weapons against a much larger guy with a knife. The fight was well coordinated and the scene ends in a bloody way, as you’d expect from an exploitation style movie by Robert Rodriguez, when Agent Rivera hits the “bad guy” in the eye with one of her sharp metal stiletto heels and kills him.

Paris Hilton: Another Celeb Saying “Only High Heels”

Paris Hilton was sentenced to community service after she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors [drug possession and obstructing an officer] but avoided jail time through probation for a year. During the time she is on probation, she must complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and complete 200 hours of community service.

Although she was given instructions on what to wear, she just couldn’t do without her high heels while wearing a regulation T-shirt and suggested stretch pants. Those shoes were not regular patent leather high heels but, as you would expect from the celeb, black patent leather stiletto heeled Christian Louboutins!

Paris wore a pair out of her extensive Louboutin collection to complete her court-ordered work with the Hollywood Beautification Team. She also kept her sunglasses on as she painted over graffiti with a roller. As she was not particularly handy with a roller, she ruined her clothes and her black patent leather Louboutin heels with paint and through the stony ground.

I would expect her to keep on wearing other designer heels during the rest of her community work and I would assume that she would auction them at the end of her sentence in their “well-worn” state and make big bucks out of the originally $600 pumps and more importantly, lots of publicity.

Anastasia Radevich is one of the very talented designers in my opinion. She is a Canadian footwear designer of Belarusian origin.

Her designs are very elegant, beautiful, and sophisticated. There is something timeless in her creations.

Fierce: Ruthie Davis “Spike” Shoetie with Spikes and Swarowski Crystals

I always loved Ruthie Davis designs as they are always a step ahead of all other designers every season. They are inventive, fresh, feminine, sexy, and beautiful.

I especially love the new double platform booties/shoeties with metal spikes and Swarowski crystals at the heel section.

From the front, they look like any high quality booties, nice soft leather and handcrafted perfectly. But when you see them from the side or better from the back, then they turn into fierce shoes that look dangerous and sexy at the same time. I like the hidden double platform and the height of the stiletto heels as well as the overall shape of the shoe, which looks feminine and comfortable to wear.

As you can see, stars such as Beyonce and Katy Perry are already rocking those babies. I will be ordering a pair soon, and I think any shoe lover should have at least a pair in her closet and wear them regularly.

Gianmarco Lorenzi is one of my all time favorite designers. He always had gorgeous shoes in his collections which featured a sexy design and mean stiletto heels.

With his black label limited edition collection, he surpassed our expectations again. The sexy rhinestone embellished sandals feature sculpted and mean 5 inch stiletto heels, wild platforms, candy-like colors and high quality materials.

Although the prices are not an issue at this high level of luxury footwear, I can only think of a couple of lucky ladies, who could afford to have the whole Black Label collection shipped to their mansions.

The first name comes to my mind is the music diva Mariah Carey. I know her passion for sandals and boots and i have seen her many times in Lorenzi’s designs. I can even picture her wearing those black label babies for every possible occasion.

In 2009, we have seen many great shoe designs. It was a year of peep-toe booties, over-the-knee boots, stilettos and many different textures.

2010 is no different, so far. The same trends continue to evolve and we are blessed with great designs and gorgeous footwear. So far, we can see that the peep-toe booties and OTK boots will continue way into 2010-2011 Winter. The stiletto heels and platforms still rule-fortunately for all of us shoe enthusiasts who prefer the thin stiletto shape to the chunky heels. The biggest trend is the nude colors throughout the 2010 SS season. All in all, it is a great time to enjoy many sexy and elegant shoe designs.

I especially love the new stiletto heel design. The heel is encased in an acrylic see-thru shell that reveals the gold color metal heel dowel. The interestig design element here is that the acrylic casing does not cover the bottom part of the heel and leaves the tip of the heel exposed. The metal heel rod protrudes out of the see-thru casing like a pointy dagger tip which intends to poke holes into the floor if not only defused by the heel tips.

It is good news if you are a see-thru shoe enthusiast or you are confident about how your feet look and would like to show them off. In either case, Prada shoes are the right way to go.

Prada’s 2010 spring shoe collection solely comprises of see-thru plastic shoe models. Although I am not particularly happy about the chunky heel style throughout the design range, I love the heel heights and the very pointy-toes in some models. My only complaint is that the use of white Velcro fasteners made some shoes look cheap.

Versace showed us beautiful sculpted booties, sandals and slingbacks for the Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection.

The main feature of all shoes in the collection was the metallic high heels that are part of the metallic out-soles which interlaced with 3- inch high platforms in the front.

This solid and well-sculpted structure creates the foundation on which the the insole and the vamp of the shoe rests. The interesting part of this design here is that these two design elements feature a half-inch gap starting from the balls of the feet and going all the way up to the back of the heels.

The designers placed a support piece between the upper and the lower part of the shoes at the heel level to support the vamp and the heel section in the top part of the shoes.

It is an elaborate design that also looks good.

All shoes featured high platforms and most of them had vivid patterns in vibrant colors.

I especially liked the pink and salmon-colored peep-toes that had very tall ankle cuffs in animal-skin pattern that went all the way up to the knees.

Gucci has a great collection of sandals for 2010 Spring.

I love the fact that they kept the stiletto heels that -in combination with platforms-measure 5 inches. I also like that the multi-strap sandals that crisscross the top and the sides of the feet creating a gorgeous pattern.

Gucci chose neutral colors for the spring collection; there are blacks, whites, pale grays, and some beige.

One of my favorite design features though is the ankle cuffs and the leather leg wraps that go all the way to the knees creation the illusion of a pair of boots. I can already see lots of celebrities showing off their Gucci sandals this spring.

Emilio Pucci’s Spring 2010 Ready-to-wear Collection features stunning stiletto sandals and ankle boots. The design and the materials are superb. The only weird thing about this otherwise great presentation was that some of the models did not bother to shave their legs for a loooong time! It was not very pleasant to look at and it sure did not help the gorgeous collection. I had to PhotoShop some of the pics so that the extremely hairy legs did not shock you as they did shock me:)

The Christian Dior Fall 2010 ready-to-wear show was amazing.

John Galliano outlined an equestrian theme with lots of leather mixed with romantic chiffon pieces.

The main element of the collection were the boots, ankle high, knee high, and my favorite, over-the-knee. They were mostly rugged looking platform boots made of leather and suede with stiletto heels. there were a couple of lovely lace ankle boots with stiletto heels but the majority of the boots were leather incorporating buckles on the sides and laced-up back in line with the equestrian theme. Thigh-high boots were paired with almost everything in the collection and for some pieces they were replaced with knee high or ankle boots plus thigh-high socks.

I also loved the leather equestrian-themed jackets, jodhpurs and hats. The colors were wintery and pastel. All in all, most of the outfits were gorgeous and very feminine, very sexy.

High-Heeled Foot Cast from the Movie Inglorious Basterds

I’ve just watched Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds on Bluray. It was a very nice movie, although a little long to my liking (It could have been 30 mins shorter).

Anyway, the movie is about a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” lead by Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), who are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis in Nazi-occupied France during World War II. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris.

Toward the end of the movie, there is a scene where Bridget von Hammersmark, a double agent played by Diane Kruger, has to attend an illustrious movie premiere at the above-mentioned theater -despite being shot at her leg just a day ago- because every major Nazi officer attends the event, including Hitler.

It was very interesting to see that she was wearing a nice gray metallic ankle-strap platform sandal on her healthy foot with at least 4.5 to 5 inches of heel and to match that, she had the first “high-heeled foot cast” I have ever seen on her injured foot. I had to blog about this because I have never seen such a cast before in any movies or real life!

Another first for the ever-inventive Tarantino, who also have a known fetish for female feet.

Christina’s shoe closet/shoe room looks very nice and organized and her collection looks almost as extensive as Mariah Carey’s, almost! Although I do not like the red curtain and leopard carpeting, the shelving is very nicely done.

I wonder how she keeps track of which shoes she already has. Does she have a list that gets updated? Does she keep the shoes and boots forever or she gives them away/throws them away once she is done with them (I guess she can wear them only on a couple of occasions while everybody is watching what she wears all the time!).

I also wonder, if she only buys one pair of each or several pairs, because I remember reading that Celine Dion was buying several pairs of the same shoe model so that she has the same shoes in all her houses.

I believe I have more shoes and boots in total than she has but nowhere near the same collection of brand names.

My only complaint are the man socks that the models are wearing. It is simply gross, but if you look beyond that, the shoes are fabulous. I wish they also had boots in this collection.

High Heeled Birkenstocks Anyone?

It keeps getting worse with the SS 2010 shoe designs!

I love Stella McCartney’s shoe designs, well; I used to love them until I saw the pictures of the SS 2010 sandals. I could not believe my eyes. She’s just put together a collection of high-heeled Birkenstocks! It is very disappointing after her beautiful designs in SS 2009 and current Fall/Winter season.

Why on Earth would one want to wear Birkenstocks with stiletto heels? Since 1897, the Birkenstock shoes have been designed and built for their simple function: comfort. If you are in need of a pair of comfortable shoes due to a foot health problem or because you are on your feet for prolonged periods of time, you would not look for heels. On the other hand, if you like to wear heels and feel comfortable in them, you would not go for Birkenstocks because they are not built to look good and they do not. At least, this is my opinion.

Terrible News for SS 2010 Shoe Season

Following the excellent and pleasing designs of the summer 2009 with a myriad of gorgeous strappy sandals, peep-toes and summer booties, we were amazed by the beautiful peep-toe booties of the fall season, which were followed by the exceptional over-the-knee boots of winter season.

Great designs by almost all top designers, gorgeous material combinations, sleek silhouettes, the wonderful display of craftsmanship, and the breathtakingly innovative stiletto heels made us feel like we were in a wonderful dream and we never wanted to wake up.

Until the moment of the rude awakening came! I was happily browsing the Internet to see what’s new and upcoming when I got hit with the truth: I saw the Louis Vuitton SS 2010 shoe designs. My God! Then came the second hit from Chanel. Then came the third hit from Alexander McQueen, one of my favorite shoe designers. I was trying to stay positive and optimistic, however, they kept coming: Dior, Miu Miu, John Galliano and Nina Ricci!

One after the other they hit me in my face with their hideous shoe designs for SS 2010, reminding me that I was not in my joyful dream anymore. The creepy designs, the weird material combinations, the disturbing colors, and their unsettling presentation made me feel uneasy. (Check them below for yourself)

Now there is one thing that we can do: We should hope that none of these strange designs go to production and see the daylight again and that they stay on the runways as means of attracting the crowds’ attention.

I am also hoping that the other top designers, who still possess a ‘design sense’, will choose to continue the current elegant styles and create beautiful shoes and boots again for the SS 2010 and beyond, which are worthy to be worn and which make us feel good and happy again while wearing them and while watching others wear them.

Style Wars – Designers in Court over Boot Design

Alexander McQueen is taking legal action against Steve Madden for copying his peep-toe bootie design called ‘Faithful’, which is by the way one of my favorites for this season. Steve Madden created a remarkably similar design called ‘Seryna’ just months after McQueen’s design was revealed.

Now according to nymag.com, Alexander McQueen is suing Steve Madden for allegedly copying his Faithful bootie. The law suit, filed October 1 in Manhattan District Court, alleges Steve Madden’s Seryna Bootie is a “studied imitation” of McQueen’s Faithful design, which was inspired by a motorcycle jacket. McQueen’s lawyers add, “In fact, the only design element of the ‘Faithful Bootie’ that Madden did not deliberately copy is the zipper pull that contains the ‘Alexander McQueen’ trademark skull.”

McQueen’s lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to Steve Madden in September, but they refuse to stop making and selling the shoe.

I can see another difference between these two booties, which is their price! The McQueen booties are sold for $1,150 whereas the Madden versions are only $130.

Alexander McQueen showed his SS 2010 shoe designs and created mixed feelings.

Some of the designs were out of this world – literally! Some of the shoes looked like a cross between cocoons and helmets. Although several of the shoes on the runway may look extreme to most of us, their mission was to capture the attraction and I believe the mission is accomplished.

There were also ultramodern and industrial ankle boots, which kind of reminded me of the Nicholas Kirkwood designs with their industrial looking materials such as nuts, bolts, and metal combined with leather. The design and material combinations create a futuristic look for these stiletto heeled ankle boots, which is kind of sexy and eye-catching.

The very creative McQueen collection exudes a mystical and futuristic aura and it will be interesting to find out soon which of the presented designs will make it to the stores.

The successful collaboration between Phillip Lim and Christian Louboutin continues into the SS 2010 season.

After presenting an amazing collection of stiletto heeled footwear in Spring 2009 in earth tones and shades of red, the two designers worked for the Fall/Winter 09/10 season. The shoes and the boots in that collection was characterized by the platforms, satin and leather materials, and blue, black and beige colors. And of course the signature stiletto heels and the red Louboutin soles.

The Spring/Summer 2010 Phillip Lim shoes collection is an astounding one as well. Another collaboration between Lim and Louboutin, these collection amazes us again with strappy sandals, platform ankle boots, generous use of lace, 5+ inch stiletto heels and lots of peep-toes.

For those, who can afford these wonderful shoes and boots, it is a must to have one pair or two. For those, who can’t afford them, it is a pleasure to watch the ones that wear them.
