Both are music divas, both are known for their specific style choices, and both are famous for their fierce heels. Yes, I am talking about Alicia Keys and Rihanna.

When both of these divas choose to wear the same style of the same designer’s shoes to the same event, we can definitely talk about shoe wars.

At the 2012 Grammy Awards, both ladies chose the same shoe: Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps with PVC trims and 5 inch stiletto heels.

Alicia Keys opted for a classic below-the-knee Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2012 Couture fitted LBD with padded shoulders teamed with a choker, while Rihanna wore a black silk cady custom Giorgio Armani gown featuring a plunging neckline complimented by a high slit, a dramatically open back and an elegant leg cleavage.

I must admit that Rihanna pulled it off better with her longer and leaner legs and delicate ankles. She also scored additional style points for her complimenting black toenail polish while Alicia went for cherry red.

She always looks very elegant and graceful on the red carpet, on photo shoots, on candid pictures. She has a natural ability to find the right pose and posture within milliseconds and she is very relaxed when in front of the cameras.

Even during the same events, while most other actresses look very awkward and stressful in front of the photographers and display artificial smiles and poses, Renée is always comfortable and playful like a true diva.

I’m also a big fan of her outfits and I love her taste in shoes as well.

It took place during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City at The Theater at Lincoln Center on September 12, 2011 and many celebs attended the event.

As you can see from the pictures, Renee was looking fabulous as always.

Her choice of shoes were also excellent. A pair of mini platform, pointy-toe, nude color leather, stiletto heeled Louboutins complemented her dress and was a great match to her bag.

Her feet and legs looked awesome in the 5 inch heeled shoes and the cut of the shoes enabled her to show a nice shoe cleavage.

The other young celebrity co-designers for Stuart Weitzman’s collection are no less than Hayden Panettiere, Scarlett Johansson, and Michelle Trachtenberg. Stuart Weitzman teamed-up with these young celebs to raise money for ovarian cancer and assist Dr. Marsha Moses’ research in ovarian cancer at the Folkman Institute in Boston, MA.

I love these two design concepts by Fendi.

They designed a nice high heel shoe and a great boot with their logo on the front.

The chocolate brown high heel ankle boots from Fendi feature an upturned 2-inch wooden platform sole with a gold tone metal logo plaque at the tip of the boot, brick red leather strips up the front and heel of the boot and a back zip fastening. Victoria Spruce is a footwear designer based in London.

Victoria has graduated in 2011 with an MA in Womenswear Footwear from Royal College of Art.

She has always been inspired by architecture, sculpture and structure, which is clearly visible in her footwear designs.

Emphasized by her use of hard materials combined with soft leathers, she gives a vivid contrast between the traditional and the new.

Also evident throughout her collections, is the belief that the upper and heel should be thought about as one, and not 2 separate pieces that are joined at the end.

This is emphasized further by the fluidity of line that Victoria uses consistently to create organic, flowing shapes that evolve around the foot.

Interesting approach, eye-cathing for sure but not very comfortable in my opinion.

The other night, I was watching Cameron Diaz talking about her new movie “Bad Teacher” on David Letterman. She was rocking a pair of black leather Casadei 8593 stiletto pumps. Those shoes are not even out in the market yet (They will be out for purchase by the end of July 2011).

I just loved her Casadei stilettos with 5 inch sculpted metal heels. I have seen Jennifer Lopez wearing a nude pair of the same shoes before and Selena Gomez wearing them on the red carpet, too, but those pumps looked way better with Cameron’s long legs and high arches.

She is not one of the red carpet ladies that wear one pair of shoes only once and jump to another pair as if it’s a sin to wear a pair of shoe more than once! When Cameron wears a pair of shoes, she really gets the wear out of them by matching them with different outfits on different occasions.

I know that it is still a hefty amount for a pair of shoes but the quality of the material and the craftsmanship is top of the line.

These black leather ankle height shoe boots feature square-shaped enclosed toes, wide band with a gold metal buckle rests across the foot, enclosed ankles.

In 2009, we have seen many great shoe designs. It was a year of peep-toe booties, over-the-knee boots, stilettos and many different textures.

2010 is no different, so far. The same trends continue to evolve and we are blessed with great designs and gorgeous footwear. So far, we can see that the peep-toe booties and OTK boots will continue way into 2010-2011 Winter. The stiletto heels and platforms still rule-fortunately for all of us shoe enthusiasts who prefer the thin stiletto shape to the chunky heels. The biggest trend is the nude colors throughout the 2010 SS season. All in all, it is a great time to enjoy many sexy and elegant shoe designs.

Below, I have compiled some of my favorite designer shoes of the 2010 season so far. This is the first part of the blog about 2010 designer shoes.

Two Great Alessandro Dell’Acqua Designs

Alessandro Dell’Acqua is one of my all time favorite designers. Below are two gorgeous designs by Dell’Acqua.

My personal favorite between the two designs is the ankle strap heels in black patent leather. These sandals are made in Italy and they feature a patent leather upper with genuine leather soles. The heels are approximately 3.5 inches tall. The sandals are zipped up in the back and the ankle straps have stretch material built-in for a more comfy fit. The price tag on this item is $705, which is a bargain for a pair of Alessandro Dell’Acqua sandals.

The buckle pumps in Italian cream leather have approximately 4 inch heels and 1 inch platform. The strappy leather upper design is rounded off with golden buckle accent at the vamp. The price is $779 at Forward.

Jil Sander is one of my favorite designers. I started liking her when I’ve first used her perfumes a couple of years ago. They were excellent and had very rare and sexy scents.

The shoe designs in this post show that she is a very inventive designer. The out of the ordinary material combinations and new unusual shapes, i.e. the curved industrial grade metal heels, give these designs a rare and remarkable presence. I love the wooden platforms, metal heels and the cut-out and mesh leather vamps.
