Curated by Nick Knight with Carrie Scott at the SHOWstudio, the exhibition that I am blogging about today is called ‘Selling Sex’.

It is an exciting mix of fine artists, photographers, filmmakers, and fashion designers. Aoi Kotsuhiroi’s ‘WET SILENCE’ Kinbaku feet objects and ‘RELIQUARY #1’ are currently featured in this latest show.

Each object in this presentation is unique. The artist uses materials such as silk thread, human hair, horse hair, Urushi lacquer, lacquered horns, antique Buddhist carnelian prayer beads, antique roman 24k gold beads and glass beads from circa 100-400 AD, antique elephant leather, buffalo leather, crocodile leather, cherry tree wood, antique indigo fabric, phantom crystals, ‘pit-fired’ porcelain, etc. to create these incredible art pieces.

Both are music divas, both are known for their specific style choices, and both are famous for their fierce heels. Yes, I am talking about Alicia Keys and Rihanna.

When both of these divas choose to wear the same style of the same designer’s shoes to the same event, we can definitely talk about shoe wars.

At the 2012 Grammy Awards, both ladies chose the same shoe: Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps with PVC trims and 5 inch stiletto heels.

Alicia Keys opted for a classic below-the-knee Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2012 Couture fitted LBD with padded shoulders teamed with a choker, while Rihanna wore a black silk cady custom Giorgio Armani gown featuring a plunging neckline complimented by a high slit, a dramatically open back and an elegant leg cleavage.

I must admit that Rihanna pulled it off better with her longer and leaner legs and delicate ankles. She also scored additional style points for her complimenting black toenail polish while Alicia went for cherry red.

Harper’s Bazaar’s March issue features Gwyneth Paltrow shot by Terry Richardson.

At 39, she looks stronger than she did in her 20s, lean and toned.

While at first, you get stunned by her fit physique, you’ll immediately notice the Anthony Vaccarello spring 2012 dress showing plenty of leg in combination with fierce stiletto sandals.

She is also rocking an amazing see-through gown and fierce Alexander McQueen shoes in other pictures.

She has incredible posture and amazing high arches.

I love the 6-inch sculpted metallic wedge heel with the 1.5-inch platforms. You’ll be walking on 4.5-inch heels which is not too high at all.

Limited Edition Bejeweled Pieces by Loriblu Luxury Shoes

These precious high heels in python feature ankle straps studded in diamonds and rubies and they can be detached and worn as an elegant bracelet.

After the Salone Internazionale del Lusso in Verona, Loriblu Luxury Shoes, limited-edition bejeweled pieces designed by Graziano Cuccù, were featured at two other prestigious events. One was held in the Loriblu boutique in Milan and another in the Loriblu boutique in Rome.

These aren’t “just” shoes but very valuable art pieces to be kept in a safe. These one-off pieces are all made to order.

One standout piece is the bejeweled sandal realized in collaboration with Florentine brand Ponte Vecchio Gioielli.

The prices are 2,000 euros and up.

I especially like the cutout lace finish on the vamp of the shoes.

This is a new series of blog posts about female pop stars who perform on stage or on TV wearing their tall Christian Louboutin boots to complement their outfits.

The first post is about the pop diva Christina Aguilera. I love her beautiful voice and I also love her extensive collection of designer shoes and boots.

I love stilettos, I love animal skin, and I also love Louboutin designs. So this one is a winner.

Christian Louboutin Wales 120 pumps are made of gray and dark-brown python leather.

The stacked wooden stiletto heels measure approximately 4 inches high (hence the name 120 as in 120mm) with a 1-inch concealed platform.

I have been carefully observing the high quality boots of this small manufacturer in Italy for quite some time.

Les Baisers Des Etoiles are leather boots that are entirely handcrafted in Italy.

They have exquisite French designs.

The dark green pair (by the way, I love the color) featured in this post is a pair of knee-high boots made of alligator embossed leather upper.

They also feature leather soles, leather insoles, extremely pointy toes, and 4.5-inch metal stiletto heels.

The price tag on such well-crafted boots is only $599.

Renée Zellweger is one of my top favorite celebrities for her amazing ability to flirt with cameras and display the best posture no matter what the occasion is.

She always looks very elegant and graceful on the red carpet, on photo shoots, on candid pictures. She has a natural ability to find the right pose and posture within milliseconds and she is very relaxed when in front of the cameras.

Even during the same events, while most other actresses look very awkward and stressful in front of the photographers and display artificial smiles and poses, Renée is always comfortable and playful like a true diva.

I’m also a big fan of her outfits and I love her taste in shoes as well.

Lucy Liu in Jimmy Choo Nude Patent Leather Peeptoes

I love Lucy Liu and she is one of my favorite girls in the movies. She always looks very beautiful, elegant and sexy at the same time.

These pictures are from the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2 and she looks amazing again.

I love her white dress and Jimmy Choo patent leather nude peep-toe shoes. They are classic patent leather pumps rendered in a curvaceous modern shape with a peep-toe.

Made in Italy and priced at $750, these peep-toe pumps feature a self-covered 5¾-inch stiletto high heel (145mm) and a 1½-inch tall platform (40mm).

Although the platform makes the heel height comparable to a 4¼-inch high heel (115mm), it is still amazing how graceful Lucy walks and poses in them considering her little feet are only size 5.5 (35.5).

Lovely design-as you’d expect from Giuseppe Zanotti.

These stiletto black OTK boots are made of soft nubuck suede leather and feature a 4.25-inch high stiletto heel, a pointed toe, a buckle detail at side vamp and top of shaft.

These all leather boots are handmade in Italy.

They are currently on sale for $876 at bluefly (regular retail value was $1,095).

Lanvin Frame-wedge Metallic-leather Sandals

These are currently my favorite Lanvin sandals. As you may remember, we have seen Cameron Diaz and Charlize Theron wearing the same frame-wedge heels from Lanvin 2011 winter collection a couple of months ago.

Now, these beauties are available for the public, although the price of $1,950 will seriously limit the size of the public who can afford these sandals.

The gold and bronze metallic-leather sandals feature a resin frame wedge heel that is 5 inches high with 0.5 inch platform, a rosette on the front, and an asymmetric square toe.

The sandals also have a snap-fastening ankle strap.

Le Silla Black Stretch PITONE Platform OTK Boots

I really love these Le Silla python leather OTK boots.

These sexy over-the-knee boots are made of black snakeskin and they feature 5.1-inch high stiletto heels with 1.6-inch platforms, pointed and slightly accentuated toes, slim and fitted above the knee shaft.

Despite the over 5-inch heel height, the actual walking height is a comfortable 3.5 inches with the help of the double platforms. The main platform is concealed and below that, there is a second mini platform that elevates the boots a little further.

While most other Le Silla leather boots with similar design are priced at around $700, the price of $2,090 at shopbop is ‘reasonable’ for these Pitone OTK boots since they are made of real python leather.

Christian Louboutin Gazolina 140 Suede Calfskin Thigh-High Platform Boots

I love this particular model by Louboutin that comes in two colors: black and coffee.

My favorite color choice is coffee as it is more unique than a pair of black suede OTK boots.

The boots are made of suede calfskin and are a whooping 31 inches tall. This is not a mere OTK but rather thigh-high territory.

They feature a covered 5.5-inch high stiletto heel (hence the 140 in the name for 140mm) with a 1.2-inch tall platform (30mm), a softly rounded toe, a half zipper at the inside of the shaft, a fabric lining (I would’ve preferred a leather one, but oh well), and off course the signature red leather sole.

The initial price for these lovely boots were $2,295, however, right now, they are sold for around $1,800 and lower. A Google search would bring you similar prices, but unfortunately most of the sizes may be sold out by now.

Gabrielle Union in Leather Boots – Perfect Color Match for Medium Dark Skin

It is very hard to find a perfectly matching ‘nude’ shoes or boots, no matter what your complexion is.

With the boots, the best match that I’ve ever seen was Sandra Bullock’s knee boots that I blogged about previously.

These ‘nude’ leather boots that lovely Gabrielle Union is wearing, are a very close second in terms of matching the skin complexion.

I love her knee-high leather boots with high heels as they are the perfect color match for a medium dark skin tone.

They also match very well with her Coach bag.

These boots prove that she has great taste.

Young Hollywood Cares Collection by Stuart Weitzman

A little more than a month ago, Stuart Weitzman introduced his Young Hollywood Cares Collection with Olivia Palermo wearing her co-designed sandals from this collection at a red carpet event – The Smurfs World Premiere.

The other young celebrity co-designers for Stuart Weitzman’s collection are no less than Hayden Panettiere, Scarlett Johansson, and Michelle Trachtenberg. Stuart Weitzman teamed-up with these young celebs to raise money for ovarian cancer and assist Dr. Marsha Moses’ research in ovarian cancer at the Folkman Institute in Boston, MA.

The complete collection is available and all of sales will go to a very good cause.

These boots have all necessary design elements that makes them so sophisticated and sexy:

5 inch high stiletto heels, seriously pointy toes, nappa leather and rugged rubber soles!

I love the quilted leather panel along the back of the shaft of these Burberry black stretch nappa leather thigh-high boots. It gives the boots a certain personality.

Although the stiletto heels look mean and measure 5 inches tall, the 1 inch high platform in the front makes you feel like you are walking on 4 inches high heels.

Other features are the seam details, the gunmetal half-zippers on the insides of the shafts, and the rugged rubber soles that tell you that these babies mean business.

These fully lined thigh high boots are made of navy colored leather and they have 5-inch high stiletto heels with a 1-inch tall concealed platform at the front.

They also feature a seam detail, designer-stamped plaque on leather outsole, rounded almond toe, and half zip fastening at the inside of the shaft.

I love the fact that they fit really tight and go all the way up the legs. I wish that the toes were a little pointier.

The materials and the craftsmanship of these Yves Saint Laurent leather knee boots is extraordinary!

These pull-on boots are made of black kidskin leather and they feature 4-inch chunky heels, pull tabs at the top of the shafts, cross-over gold chain-embellished straps at the ankles, and almond toes.

Although the chunky heels and almond toes are not necessarily my favorite design elements on a boot, these YSL boots are so well crafted that I like them.

High quality has its price and in YSL’s case it is $1,450 at net-a-porter.

I always have a tendency to like different looking designs and this is one of them.

I have been wanting to post something about these Camilla Skovgaard boots for quite some time (since when they first came out), but I’ve never done so until today.

These black suede ankle boots with black leather tassels at the high heels look quite interesting and they are really eye-catching. They actually look like little floggers.

The tassel-covered stiletto heels measure a nice 4.5 inches. These boots have a round toe (which may be comfy but not my favorite design element), a leather finish at the back.

They also feature a black jagged signature platform together with a cream leather sole and silver zip fastenings at the side.

This blog is about a Turkish celebrity. Her name is Hülya Avsar and she is a well-known actress, singer, TV Host in Turkey.

This 48-years-old entertainer played tennis in the opening game of the tennis tournament in her name. It was the 10th anniversary of this tournament and all revenue is given to a charity that helps children in poverty.

For this year, Hülya Avsar chose a clever marketing strategy and posed for the posters of the tournament in her tennis outfit and several high heels. She also started the opening game in her black leather 5-inch high stiletto heeled platform ankle boots.

Both nappa boots look unique, high-quality and well-crafted.

I especially love the lace-up peep-toe ones, although the platform design of the ankle boots also attract my attention.

The ankle boots have an awesomely high 6.3-inch / 160 mm heels. The platform in the front is about 2.5 inches high, bringing the walking heel height down to approximately 4 inches.

I like the hoisted look of the boots created by the gap between the platform and heels and the main boot.
